{"id":17655,"date":"2021-05-07T15:33:30","date_gmt":"2021-05-07T15:33:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=17655"},"modified":"2026-04-23T19:44:32","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T22:44:32","slug":"gkl-casino-sales-for-april-up-48-month-on-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/gkl-casino-sales-for-april-up-48-month-on-month","title":{"rendered":"GKL casino sales for April up 48% month-on-month"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) has reported KRW8.83bn (US$7.9m) in sales for April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>South Korea.- The South Korean operator of foreigner-only casinos Grand Korea Leisure (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/gkl-casino-revenue-rises-ten-fold-following-reopenings\">GKL<\/a>) has reported<strong>\u00a0that casino sales grew by 48 per cent\u00a0<\/strong>month-on-month in April to KRW8.83bn (US$7.9m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the significant increase, <strong>casino sales remain far from 2019 levels, when the casino operator reached KRW110.23bn<\/strong>\u00a0in the first four months of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first four months of 2021,\u00a0<strong>GKL saw KRW15.29bn in casino sales, down 86 per cent\u00a0<\/strong>when compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for table games,\u00a0<strong>GKL reported sales of nearly KRW12.66bn<\/strong>, down 87 per cent when compared with the first four months of 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Machine game sales also declined 75 per cent<\/strong>\u00a0from KRW10.61bn to KRW2.63bn. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/grand-korea-leisure-reopens-seoul-casinos\">GKL<\/a>\u00a0reopened its two casinos in Seoul in March after being closed <strong>since November 24.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) has reported KRW8.83bn (US$7.9m) in sales for April.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":17657,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) reported KRW8.83bn (US$7.9m) in April casino sales, a 48% month-on-month increase following the reopening of its Seoul properties in March.
