{"id":17509,"date":"2021-05-04T14:30:48","date_gmt":"2021-05-04T14:30:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=17509"},"modified":"2026-04-23T19:50:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T22:50:08","slug":"paradise-co-revenue-down-34-4-in-april","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/paradise-co-revenue-down-34-4-in-april","title":{"rendered":"Paradise Co revenue down 34.4% in April"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Financial results show a 34.4 per cent fall in casino revenue for the South Korean operator, Paradise Co.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>South Korea.- The casino operator\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/paradise-expects-us13-3m-loss-for-q1\">Paradise Co<\/a> has reported\u00a0<strong>a 34.4 per cent decrease in revenue\u00a0<\/strong>from KRW22.60bn (US$20m) in March to KRW14.82bn (US$13.2m) in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although revenue was down when compared to the previous month,\u00a0<strong>Paradise Co noted that the number was 86.3 per cent higher\u00a0<\/strong>than in April last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Compared to March,\u00a0<strong>Paradise Co table revenue was down 36.5 per cent to nearly KRW13.05bn\u00a0<\/strong>but up 88.0 per cent from a year earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Machine game revenue<\/strong> reached almost KRW1.78bn, down 13.7 per cent from the previous month but up 74.4 per cent from April last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company, which operates four casinos: <strong>Walkerhill in Seoul, Jeju Grand on Jeju Island, Busan Casino in Busan and Paradise City in Incheon<\/strong>, reported\u00a0that <strong>table revenue between January and April was KRW75.19bn<\/strong>, down 50.6 per cent compared to the first four months of 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/tourism-in-south-korea-down-90-4-in-february\">foreigner-only casino operator<\/a>\u00a0has struggled due to Covid-19 countermeasures and the\u00a0<strong>lack of tourists<\/strong>.
