The new border crossing for pedestrians will connect Macau with the city of Zhuhai, in mainland China’s Guangdong province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- Wong Sio Chak<\/strong>, Macau\u2019s secretary for security has said he hopes a new pedestrian border crossing between Macau and Guangdong province<\/strong> could open during the second half of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new border crossing will connect Macau with the city of Zhuhai<\/strong>. It will be the first border crossing between the two cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hong Kong<\/a> will allow non-residents<\/strong> from Guangdong province and Macau to enter the city without undergoing quarantine<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO)<\/strong> has announced there will be no new travel bubbles with any country or regions<\/strong> soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a press conference, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) PR Director Lau Fong Chi<\/strong> said authorities had studied the most popular tourist destinations <\/strong>for locals but that those locations have a high number of Covid-19 cases <\/strong>so they do not plan to establish new travel bubbles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For now, Macau has resumed travel with mainland China<\/a> where travel agencies have been seeing a 20 per cent rise in bookings<\/strong> for flights to Macau for the Labour Day break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
