{"id":17263,"date":"2021-04-27T15:36:08","date_gmt":"2021-04-27T15:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=17263"},"modified":"2026-04-23T20:03:24","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T23:03:24","slug":"delta-corp-asks-for-waiver-on-licence-fees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/delta-corp-asks-for-waiver-on-licence-fees","title":{"rendered":"Delta Corp asks for waiver on licence fees"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As India faces a rapid rise in Covid-19 cases, Delta Corp has asked authorities for a waiver on licence fees due to the impact on its venues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>India.- With India suffering from a serious health crisis as a result of an increase in Covid-19 cases,&nbsp;<strong>Delta Corp&nbsp;<\/strong>has reported results for the final quarter of the 2020 fiscal year and&nbsp;<strong>asked authorities for a waiver on its licence fees<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Delta Corp was forced to close its casinos from April 1 until the end of October 2020, and now board members fear <strong>there will be a new lockdown<\/strong>&nbsp;in the following days due to the rise in Covid-19 cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company stated in its financial report that&nbsp;<strong>Delta Corp is debt-free and has adequate liquidity available<\/strong>&nbsp;to comply with its liabilities and obligations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the management has asked the state government of Goa for a&nbsp;<strong>reduced payment mechanism for its casino licence fees<\/strong>&nbsp;for the period from April 2020 to October 2020.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the last quarter of 2020,&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/delta-corp-returns-to-profit-after-reopening-of-goas-casinos\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Delta Corp<\/a>&nbsp;reported a<strong>&nbsp;profit of Rs1.28 crore (US$176,000)<\/strong>, which represented a fall of 97.7 per cent year-on-year but a return to profit after a loss of Rs54.91 crore (US$7.6m) in the prior quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the first quarter of 2021,&nbsp;<strong>Delta Corp reported that sales rose 40.57 per cent&nbsp;<\/strong>to Rs 133.22 crore while&nbsp;<strong>net profit for the full year declined 12.87 per cent<\/strong>&nbsp;to Rs 86.75 crore.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As India faces a rapid rise in Covid-19 cases, Delta Corp has asked authorities for a waiver on licence fees due to the impact on its venues.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":17272,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Delta Corp, an Indian gaming operator, reported a significant year-on-year profit decline for Q4 2020 and a full-year net profit decrease, primarily due to COVID-19 related venue closures.
