Hong Kong wants to resume the flow of people between Hong Kong, Guangdong and Macau by easing quarantine requirements.

Hong Kong.- Sophia Chan Siu-chee, Hong Kong’s secretary for food and health, has announced that Hong Kong will allow non-residents from Guangdong province and Macau to enter Hong Kong without undergoing quarantine.

The announcement is part of an initiative dubbed “Come2HK Scheme”, which is designed to ease travel restrictions amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The news could benefit Macau’s casino operators. However, authorities have previously stated that a travel bubble between Macau and Hong Kong will not be possible until the latter registers no local infections for 14 consecutive days.

For now, Macau requires a 14-day quarantine for arrivals from Hong Kong. Mainland China is the only country to have a largely quarantine-free travel bubble with Macau.

Hong Kong and Singapore announce new travel bubble

Hong Kong and Singapore have announced an air travel bubble to begin on May 26.

Residents from Singapore will be able to fly freely with only a negative Covid-19 test result, while Singapore will also ask people travelling from Hong Kong to have been vaccinated against Covid-19.

Singapore’s Ministry of Transport said the volume of travellers would be “capped at 200 passengers on each flight for the first two weeks.” After two weeks, there will be a review.

similar decision was taken in October but was delayed due to a rise in Covid-19 cases in Hong Kong.
