The Japan IR Forum will host discussions about integrated resort developments and how they could help the country’s post-pandemic recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Japan.- An online symposium dubbed the Japan IR Forum\u00a0<\/strong>will be held on April 21 and 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will be hosted by the\u00a0Japan IR Forum committee\u00a0<\/strong>and the\u00a0Japan IR Association<\/strong>\u00a0to promote the benefits of Japan’s proposed integrated resorts project and how it could help the country’s economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the speakers will be the managing director at banking group Goldman Sachs,\u00a0Simon Cheung<\/strong>, who will talk about the\u00a0number of gaming resort projects already built<\/strong> or in development in the Asia Pacific region. There will also be presentations by Japanese academics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to local media, there will be also a discussion about\u00a0how Japan can achieve a goal of receiving 60 million annual visitors<\/strong>\u00a0after easing Covid-19 restrictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Japan’s IR project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Japan’s Casino Regulatory Commission will initialy grant licences for up to three casino resorts in the country<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nagasaki has chosen\u00a0three casino operators to move forward to the next round<\/a>\u00a0of its tender and hopes to\u00a0select its final candidate<\/strong>\u00a0in August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Yokohama,\u00a0Akiko Fujimura, an anti-IR candidate, has announced she will run for mayor<\/a>\u00a0in the next elections to be held on August 22. The current mayor\u00a0has not yet clarified whether she will run for reelection<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Osaka,\u00a0MGM-Orix remains the only contender to be its IR partner<\/a> despite the extension to the deadline for submissions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
