Analysts have reported that Macau’s gross gambling revenue reached a daily average of US$36.2m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- Sanford C. Bernstein has reported\u00a0<\/strong>that Macau casinos saw gross gaming revenues of MOP290m (US$36.2m) per day\u00a0<\/strong>during the second week of April, up 16 per cent from the previous week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the first six days of April\u00a0Macau registered gross gaming revenues of MOP$250m (US$31m)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, analysts expect\u00a0April GGR will remain down by 60 per cent compared to April 2019<\/strong>, before the Covid-19 pandemic.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like Morgan Stanley, Bernstein expects\u00a0GGR will rise during the first quarter of the year to nearly US$3bn, an 8 per cent increase<\/em><\/a>, thanks to the mass segment. It expects strong GGR improvement to begin in the second half of the year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Analysts believe that an\u00a0easing of Covid-19 restrictions<\/strong>, vaccine expansion and economic growth will allow for\u00a0a consistent GGR improvement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Macau seeks mutual recognition of vaccination certificates with Guangdong province<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Macau is in talks with mainland Chinese authorities on the possibility of\u00a0mutual recognition of vaccination certificates<\/strong>\u00a0between Macau and the province of Guangdong as it seeks to gain more tourist arrivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0Macau Government Tourism Office reported\u00a0<\/strong>99,568 tourists visited Macau during the first week of April<\/em><\/a>\u00a0<\/em>but numbers are still a long way from pre-pandemic levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Macau\u2019s Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng said: \u201c! mutual recognition of nucleic acid tests or vaccination\u00a0could contribute positively for tourism mobility<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
