According to the Ministry of Public Security, police have arrested 110,000 people suspected of involvement in cross-border gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

China.- The Ministry of Public Security has said that police have investigated more than 17,000 cross-border gambling cases<\/strong> and arrested 110,000 people in the past year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Public Security reported that \u201cmore than 3,400 online gambling platforms\u201d had been disrupted <\/strong>together with over 2,800 illegal payment platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government has changed China’s criminal code<\/a><\/em> to make cross-border gambling a criminal offence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year, Chinese authorities added new overseas gambling destinations to the country\u2019s blacklist<\/em><\/a> <\/strong>of destinations to which cross-border transfers are controlled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guangdong offers leniency to those involved in cross-border gambling activities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Public Security Department from the province of Guangdong has offered those involved in cross-border gambling a more lenient treatment if they turn themselves to the authorities by April 30<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a police statement, authorities have already investigated 966 cross-border gambling cases <\/strong>and arrested 10,034 suspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
