The average daily volume of tourists arriving during the Easter and Qingming Festival holidays was 53.8 per cent higher than during the 2020 October Golden Week holiday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- The Macau Government Tourism Office has reported that 99,568 tourists <\/strong>visited Macau over the Easter Holiday period from April 2 to 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since March,\u00a0<\/strong>the Macau government has started to allow the entry of returning foreign visitors<\/em><\/a> who travelled to mainland China with\u00a0a visa issued by the Office of the Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of the visitors in the first week of April, 90,491 of the visitors came from mainland China.<\/strong> There were also 7,678 from Hong Kong and 1,399 arrivals from Taiwan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Macau Government Tourism Office reported an average daily volume of 19,914 visitors<\/strong>, a 17 per cent decline from figures recorded in March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0highest daily volume of visitors since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic was recorded on Friday March 26<\/a><\/em>,<\/a><\/em> with 32,647 visitors arrivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The average hotel occupancy rate for April 2 to 6 was 53.1 per cent<\/strong>, 4.5 per cent higher than during the October Golden Week and 3 per cent lower than March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although visitation has been picking up, Macau casinos saw gross gaming revenues of MOP$250m (US$31m) per day<\/em><\/a> <\/em>during the first six days of April, down 7 per cent from March\u2019s daily average.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
