{"id":16699,"date":"2021-04-08T16:15:17","date_gmt":"2021-04-08T16:15:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=16699"},"modified":"2026-04-23T20:30:24","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T23:30:24","slug":"okura-holdings-buys-property-in-nagasaki-for-expansion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/okura-holdings-buys-property-in-nagasaki-for-expansion","title":{"rendered":"Okura Holdings buys property in Nagasaki for expansion"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Okura Holdings has purchased a property in Nagasaki city for US$4m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Japan.-\u00a0<strong>Okura Holdings Limited<\/strong>, which operates pachinko halls in Japan, is seeking to\u00a0<strong>diversify its income streams\u00a0<\/strong>due to the\u00a0<strong>impact of the Covid-19 pandemic<\/strong>\u00a0on its business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\u00a0<strong>company has bought a 650 square-metre lot<\/strong>, a seven-story building, and a parking lot situated in Nagasaki\u2019s Sumiyoshimachi area for JPY442m (US$4m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Okura Holdings said it has been exploring opportunities to enhance and diversify its revenue stream. It said the acquisition &#8220;provides\u00a0<strong>an excellent opportunity for the group to expand its property investment<\/strong>\u00a0portfolio.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the group,<strong>\u00a0the purchase &#8220;will allow the group to benefit from any future capital appreciation<\/strong>\u00a0and generate a new source of rental income.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Okura Holdings currently\u00a0<strong>operates 17 pachinko halls<\/strong>, although\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/okura-holdings-pachinko-gaming\"><em>it has closed some of its venues<\/em><\/a>\u00a0in Tokyo and Kanagawa after pressure from local governments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Okura Holdings has purchased a property in Nagasaki city for US$4m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Okura Holdings, a Japanese pachinko operator, has acquired a property in Nagasaki for US$4 million.
