{"id":16594,"date":"2021-04-05T15:26:12","date_gmt":"2021-04-05T15:26:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=16594"},"modified":"2026-04-23T20:36:51","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T23:36:51","slug":"nagaworld-reports-positive-recovery-in-mass-market-for-q1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/nagaworld-reports-positive-recovery-in-mass-market-for-q1","title":{"rendered":"NagaWorld reports positive recovery in mass market for Q1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>NagaWorld has reported that average daily mass table game buy-ins reached US$3.74m in the first quarter of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Cambodia.- The Cambodian integrated resort<strong> NagaWorld has shown some sign of recovering during the first three months of the year <\/strong>with a<strong> 99.4 per cent increase in average daily mass table game buy-ins <\/strong>compared to the first quarter of 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Casino operator and developer<strong> NagaCorp also reported average daily volume from electronic gaming machines (EGMs) reached US$5.44m<\/strong>, which represents<strong> a 98.5 per cent increase compared to the same period in the previous year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NagaWorld&#8217;s recovery was interrupted after the so-called\u00a0<strong>\u201cFebruary 20 Incident\u201d<\/strong>, in which <strong>four Chinese nationals bribed their way out of a quarantine hotel<\/strong>\u00a0and visited a series of nightclubs.\u00a0<strong>Two of them later tested positive<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few weeks later, the&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/century-delays-cambodian-mass-gaming-table-business-until-april\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>casino complex in Cambodia\u2019s capital suspended operations<\/em><\/a>&nbsp;after 11 staff members tested positive during mass testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the company, <strong>daily average buy-ins for mass tables and EGMs before the incident were up by 5.2 per cent <\/strong>and 3.6 per cent respectively compared to the second half of 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NagaCorp stated: &#8220;The <strong>recovery of the mass market segment<\/strong> business volumes was largely<strong> contributed by a reasonably sized expatriate community<\/strong> and to some extent, visitors from East Asia (mainly from China, South Korea and Taiwan) patronizing NagaWorld in search of entertainment.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NagaWorld reported<strong> GGR of US$127.3m for the three months to March 31,<\/strong> with US$80.5m coming from VIP rolling, US$29.7m from mass tables and US$17.1m from EGMs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NagaWorld has reported that average daily mass table game buy-ins reached US$3.74m in the first quarter of the year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":16597,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"NagaWorld reported a Q1 GGR of US$127.3m, driven by significant year-on-year increases in average daily mass table game buy-ins and EGM volumes.
