{"id":16309,"date":"2021-03-29T16:16:52","date_gmt":"2021-03-29T16:16:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=16309"},"modified":"2026-04-23T20:45:55","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T23:45:55","slug":"macau-legend-revenue-down-70-in-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-legend-revenue-down-70-in-2020","title":{"rendered":"Macau Legend revenue down 70% in 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Macau Legend Development has reported a loss of US$252m in 2020 due to a decrease in the number of visitors to Macau and Laos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Macau.-\u00a0<strong>Macau Legend Development\u00a0<\/strong>has reported revenue of HK$700.7m (US$90.2m) for the year ending December 31, <strong>a 70 per cent drop from the previous year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The casino operator, which <strong>runs three casinos in Macau<\/strong>, said the decrease in gaming revenue was primarily <strong>due to the Covid-19 pandemic<\/strong> and related countermeasures, which negatively impacted on the group\u2019s casinos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Macau Legend&nbsp;<\/strong>reported a combined decrease in <strong>gaming revenue of around HK$1.37bn (US$176m)<\/strong> compared to 2019. <strong>Adjusted EBITDA fell 217.4 per cent in 2020<\/strong> to a loss of HK$429.3m (US$55m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Legend Palace Casino<\/strong> contributed<strong> HK$689.6m (US$89m)<\/strong> while <strong>Babylon Casino <\/strong>reported revenue of <strong>HK$87.9m (US$11m)<\/strong>. <strong>Savan Legend Casino <\/strong>contributed approximately HK$186.3m (US$24m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Macau casino operators hope <em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-continues-to-improve-through-march\" target=\"_blank\">tourism will increase in the coming months<\/a><\/em>.
