Ray Finkelstein, the former judge leading the Royal Commission in Victoria, has warned he won’t tolerate delays in the investigation into Crown Melbourne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Australia.- The judge leading the state of Victoria’s probe into Crown Resorts has announced he intends to release his report by August<\/strong> 1.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Royal commissioner Ray Finkelstein<\/strong> said he would look into money laundering and criminal links<\/strong> at Crown\u2019s Melbourne casino and how the company dealt with problem gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The former judge also revealed that he sent a letter to the members of Crown’s board asking if they accepted the findings of the previous inquiry in New South Wales<\/a><\/em> led by former supreme court judge Patricia Bergin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The state government of Victoria launched the Royal Commission<\/a><\/em> last month to decide on Crown Resorts’ suitability to maintain its licence for its\u00a0Melbourne casino<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Crown Resorts has argued that Crown is suitable<\/strong> to run its Melbourne casino following a \u201csubstantial reform program\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n However, Finkelstein said that the outcome of his inquiry “may well depend on the effectiveness of this program.<\/strong>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n Finkelstein sent a second letter to Crown asking \u201cin plain terms\u201d if it had breached any of its obligations under Victorian law<\/strong> or its contract with the state government to run the Melbourne casino. The casino operator has yet to respond<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ILGA chairman Philip Crawford<\/strong>\u00a0said Crown Resorts was making solid progress<\/a><\/em> in its efforts to reach suitability in New South Wales.<\/p>\n\n\n\nNSW gaming regulator expects a resolution within \u201cmonths, not years\u201d <\/h2>\n\n\n\n
