It ruled that all of the sites were in breach of the <strong>Interactive Gambling Act 2001<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A total of<strong> 238 illegal gambling websites have been blocked <\/strong>in Australia since November 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some <strong>130 illegal services have pulled out of the country\u2019s market <\/strong>since the ACMA began to enforce new illegal offshore gambling rules in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last month the\u00a0<strong>ACMA<\/strong>\u00a0also announced the <em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/australia-to-block-another-18-unlicensed-gambling-sites\" target=\"_blank\">blocking of another 18 offshore\u00a0unlicensed gambling websites<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to protect yourself from illegal gambling operators<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the ACMA,<strong> illegal online services include slots<\/strong> (pokies), casino-style games (like poker, blackjack and roulette), scratchies,<strong> in-play betting on sporting events and betting and lottery services <\/strong>that are not licensed in Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before betting, it recommends <strong>checking its list of blocked gambling websites<\/strong>.
