India.- The online gaming industry in India continues to grow rapidly. Driven by Covid-19 lockdowns, higher quality games and faster Internet, online gaming in<\/strong> India is growing by leaps and bounds<\/strong>, reaching a value of US$1.2bn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nazara<\/strong>, India\u2019s only gaming firm with a presence in markets in Africa and North America, entered the Indian esports market through Nodwin Gaming and has invested more than INR3bn (US$42 m) in mobile gaming <\/strong>over the last five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Venture capital funds have already invested US$107m in Indian gaming startups<\/a><\/em> in 2021 and US$438m since April 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to a report made by Limelight Networks<\/strong>, a video delivery and edge cloud services provider, Indian video game players spend an average of 8.5 hours <\/strong>each week playing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Online gambling is a popular pastime in India and the number of online gamblers has grown during Covid-19 lockdowns<\/strong>.
