{"id":15735,"date":"2021-03-11T16:20:12","date_gmt":"2021-03-11T16:20:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=15735"},"modified":"2026-04-23T21:10:46","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T00:10:46","slug":"which-macau-sports-events-are-going-ahead-in-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/which-macau-sports-events-are-going-ahead-in-2021","title":{"rendered":"Which Macau sports events are going ahead in 2021?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Macao International 10K, 40th International Marathon, International Dragon Boat Race and World Table Tennis are expected to go ahead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Macau.- President of the Macau <strong><em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/sports-bureau-outlines-protocols-for-macau-gp\" target=\"_blank\">Sports Bureau<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, Pun Weng Kun, has announced that the <strong>bureau has cut the year\u2019s agenda of major sporting events by half<\/strong> as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to impact on fixtures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Events that are still scheduled to take place include <strong>the Macao International 10K, the 40th International Marathon, the International Dragon Boat Race <\/strong>and<strong> World Table Tennis.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong><em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-grand-prix-to-be-held-in-november\" target=\"_blank\">Grand Prix<\/a><\/em><\/strong> <strong>has not yet been postponed,<\/strong> but the event depends on the evolution of the global pandemic. Pun is in conversations with the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Internationale de l\u2019Automobile about the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pun added that <strong>construction of the Mong Ha Sports Centre is expected to finish in June<\/strong>.
