Macau\u2019s gross gaming revenue\u00a0increased by 7 per cent month-on-month for the first three weeks of February<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- Despite lower than expected visitor numbers during Chinese New Year<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, analysts have reported gross gaming revenue from February 1 to February 21 reached MOP5.8bn (US$726m)<\/strong>, an increase of 7 per cent from January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the month-on-month improvement revenue remains far below the MOP$906m (US$113m)<\/strong> per day seen in February 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The average daily rate for the third week of February was MOP466m (US$58m) per day<\/strong>, doubling the average MOP$200m (US$25m) per day in the first two weeks of the month thanks to strong VIP luck and high mass holds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Casino operators and tourism authorities hope visitor numbers will increase over the next months <\/strong>as the region drops quarantine requirements for visitors from mainland China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
