The hotel has already been <strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/crown-sydney-to-open-non-gaming-areas\" target=\"_blank\">inaugurated<\/a><\/span> <\/em><\/strong>but the operator was forced to delay opening the casino pending the result of the enquiry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ILGA expects to publish its full report in <strong>two weeks&#8217; time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Inquiry into Crown<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ILGA launched its enquiry into Crown&#8217;s fitness to keep its casino licence due to an incident in 2016 that saw Crown executives arrested in China for promoting gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The inquiry heard that Crown had sponsored visas for Chinese high rollers without investigating their backgrounds and allowed them to use unsupervised bank accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The operator has since decided to end all junket operations unless the companies are approved by state regulators.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The ILGA will deliver the commissioner\u2019s recommendation on Crown Resorts&#8217; casino licence on Monday (February 1).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"The New South Wales Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority (ILGA) is poised to issue its recommendation on Crown Resorts' Sydney casino license on February 1st, following an extensive inquiry into the operator's suitability.
