Macau.- About 89 per cent of casino workers <\/strong>in middle and senior management positions at the six big Macau casino operators are local.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The secretary for economy and finance, Lei Wai Nong, told TDM Radio that the percentage is in accordance with the government\u2019s target for local labour <\/strong>at casinos, which should be no lower of 85 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Secretary Lei also noted that the percentage of local labour has maintained an upward trend <\/strong>in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of December 2020, there were 9,940 middle and high-level managers<\/span><\/a><\/em><\/strong> at “big six” operators and 89 per cent of them were local employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of December 2020, gaming operators were hiring 26,102 non-resident workers, accounting for about 24 per cent of workers. The figure is down by 9,008 compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
