{"id":13680,"date":"2021-01-22T22:20:34","date_gmt":"2021-01-22T22:20:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=13680"},"modified":"2026-04-23T22:27:27","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T01:27:27","slug":"tab-nz-reports-13-increase-in-revenue-for-december","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/tab-nz-reports-13-increase-in-revenue-for-december","title":{"rendered":"TAB NZ reports 13% increase in revenue for December"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>TAB NZ&#8217;s revenue reached NZ$36.5m in December, $6.5m above its budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>New Zealand.- <strong>Tab New Zealand<\/strong> (Tab NZ) has reported a <strong>13 per cent increase in revenue <\/strong>for December 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gross betting revenue increased to <strong>NZ$36.5m <\/strong>(US$26.2m), $6.5m above budget. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Profits before distribution <strong>were up by NZ$1.7m (US$1.3m) <\/strong>year-on-year at <strong>NZ$16.2m (US$12.5m)<\/strong>. That&#8217;s NZ$4.4m ($3.4m) above budget. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Profits had reached NZ$17.7m<strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/melbourne-cup-boosts-tab-nz-results\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> <\/a><\/em><\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/melbourne-cup-boosts-tab-nz-results\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(US$12.6m) in November.<\/a><\/em><\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TAB NZ said that the <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/tab-nz-reports-profit-of-28-3m-despite-revenue-dropping-6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">year-to-date<\/span><\/a><\/em><\/strong> operating profit from August 1 to December 31 was <strong>NZ$77.4m ($59.7m)<\/strong>. This was NZ$20.6m ($15.8m) above budget and NZ$13.1m above the same period in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New Zealand\u2019s <strong>racing margins<\/strong> were 14 per cent and its overseas racing margin was 18.7 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regarding the<strong> sports betting segment<\/strong>, TAB NZ said: \u201cThe <strong>restart of the NBA <\/strong>season has increased inplay turnover on basketball, options with basketball accounting for 38 per cent of all inplay turnover for the month, at a margin of 7 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe pre-match sports margin was influenced by the beginning of the <strong>summer sports season<\/strong> with <strong>cricket, basketball<\/strong> and<strong> football <\/strong>accounting for 70 per cent of all pre-match turnover.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TAB NZ&#8217;s revenue reached NZ$36.5m in December, $6.5m above its budget.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":13682,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"TAB NZ reported a 13% increase in December 2020 gross betting revenue, reaching NZ$36.5m and significantly exceeding budget.
