Yumul say he in negotiations with the operator on the vacant CEO role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Northern Mariana Islands.- Imperial Pacific International has approached the former Northern Mariana Island\u2019s <strong>senator Ray N. Yumul <\/strong>to replace Donald Browne as <strong>chief executive officer<\/strong> (CEO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yumul told Mariana\u2019s Variety that he had reached a <strong>verbal agreement <\/strong>with the casino operator but that <strong>negotiations were still ongoing.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to take up the role, Yumul would have to apply for a key-employee licence with the Commonwealth Casino Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IPI\u2019s last CEO, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/ipi-finds-itself-leaderless-once-again\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Donald Browne, resigned<\/a><\/em><\/strong> <\/span>as of December 17, returning to his former position as security and surveillance leader at the company where he has spent the last six years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has briefly <strong>returned to the CEO role<\/strong> on an interim basis due to a request from the board to solve specific undisclosed issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Browne has told the media that before his resignation became effective he provided the company with a<strong> reopening plan<\/strong> for its casino in western <strong>Garapan.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Browne still has to <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/imperial-pacifics-general-counsel-steps-down\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">appear in federal court<\/span><\/a><\/em><\/strong> today (Thursday) along with IPI\u2019s chairman, Cui Li Jie. Chief judge Ramona V.
