Macau.- The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau has reported that gross gaming revenues (GGR) in Macau reached MOP22bn<\/strong> (US$2.75bn) in the last quarter of 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The figure takes the total for the year to MOP61bn<\/strong> (US$7.63bn), down from MOP293.3bn (US$36.7bn) in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mass market games, including slot machines accounted for 65.1 per cent of all Macau\u2019s casino GGR in the last quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mass baccarat brought in MOP11.8bn<\/strong> (US$1.47bn), 54.3 per cent of GGR for the quarter, while VIP baccarat generated MOP7.6bn (US$951m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baccarat was followed by slot machines revenues, which totalled MOP1.11bn (US$139m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The number of casinos in Macau remains at 41 since 2018, with 6,080 gaming tables and 8,906 slots machines operating in the last quarter of 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gaming expectations for 2021<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Brokerage Bernstein has said the GGR<\/strong> for the beginning of the new year<\/strong> was showing some progress<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities in the SAR have presented Macau’s 2021 fiscal budget to the Legislative Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The budget includes expectations that Macau will receive 14 million tourists from mainland China and Hong Kong in 2021. It is estimated that GGR will reach MOP130bn<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (US$16.28bn) for the year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
