Regions that want to compete for one of the licences will lodge their bids this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yukio Edano, head of the Casino Problem Countermeasures HQ, criticised Yokohama City&#8217;s decision to reject public calls for a <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/yokohama-council-rejects-ir-referendum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">referendum<\/a><\/em><\/strong> on its intended bid to host an IR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Edano said: \u201cThe mayor and the council are acting as if they might ignore this.
