{"id":13227,"date":"2021-01-11T22:18:59","date_gmt":"2021-01-11T22:18:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=13227"},"modified":"2026-04-23T22:48:03","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T01:48:03","slug":"donaco-completes-settlement-of-star-vegas-dispute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/donaco-completes-settlement-of-star-vegas-dispute","title":{"rendered":"Donaco completes settlement of Star Vegas dispute"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Australia-listed operator has said the outcome from the arrangement will be seen in half-year financial results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Australia.- The casino operator Donaco International has finally completed the settlement arranged to close its legal dispute with Star Vegas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In November, the operator said it had made progress in <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/donaco-closer-to-agreement-with-thai-vendor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">settling a dispute with a former Thai partner<\/a><\/em><\/strong> regarding the Star Vegas Casino in Cambodia by naming two of its former executives, Lee Bug Huy and Paul Porntat Amatavivadhana, to its board of directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All claims were withdrawn and the company was awaiting authorisation from the authorities and for Mega International Commercial Bank\u2019s consent to fulfil parts of the settlement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a new filing, the settlement announced on 3 March 2020 has now formally been concluded following the approval on December 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company said: \u201cThe accounts for the half-year ending 31 December 2020 will fully reflect the positive outcome in accordance to the terms of the settlement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;In addition, as recently detailed, the business has continued to improve to a <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/donaco-chairman-expresses-positive-outlook\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">positive EBITDA<\/a><\/em><\/strong> as impacts from Covid-19 have moderated from earlier extreme levels.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Donaco\u2019s debt has also been \u201creduced significantly and a solid platform for growth is now emerging,\u201d the company said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Australia-listed operator has said the outcome from the arrangement will be seen in half-year financial results.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":13229,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Donaco International has successfully concluded the settlement of its protracted legal dispute with Star Vegas, a resolution anticipated to positively impact its half-year financial results for H1 2020.
