Donald Browne has said he is no longer CEO at the Northern Mariana Islands casino operator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Northern Mariana Islands.- Donald Browne, who was named chief executive officer of Imperial Pacific International (IPI) only last year, has told the federal court that as of December 22 he is no longer serving in the position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Browne was named CEO of the operator after the Commonwealth Casino Commission (CCC) gave IPI a deadline to appoint a CEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But since then, Browne has faced the threat of jail time<\/a><\/em><\/strong> after IPI failed to comply with court orders to pay attorneys\u2019 fees of almost US$94,000 for seven former construction workers who sued the firm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He and the company were found in contempt<\/a><\/em><\/strong> of court in just one of the many legal battles the operator is fighting in the US and the Northern Mariana Islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to The Guam Daily Post, Browne presented his resignation soon afterwards on December 3 and left the position on December 22 following after a CCC public hearing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
