{"id":13122,"date":"2021-01-07T11:22:09","date_gmt":"2021-01-07T11:22:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=13122"},"modified":"2026-04-23T22:53:16","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T01:53:16","slug":"association-urges-macau-ce-to-support-casino-employees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/association-urges-macau-ce-to-support-casino-employees","title":{"rendered":"Association urges Macau CE to support casino employees"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Macau Civil Servants Association asked the authorities to encourage gaming operators to give rewards to employees amid the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Macau.- The\u00a0Macau\u00a0Civil Servants Association (ATFPM) has urged the Chief Executive of the SAR, Ho Iat Seng, to support employees and encourage operators to give them a &#8220;reward&#8221; just as <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/sjm-to-maintain-bonus-for-employees\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SJM Holdings did last week<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SJM announced that it would give an annual &#8220;living subsidy&#8221; equivalent to 1.5 or 2 months of salary in 2021, as a &#8220;reward&#8221; to employees for their &#8220;hard-work during the pandemic&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an open letter, the ATFPM has asked Ho Iat Seng to encourage gaming concessionaires to follow the SJM initiative and provide early year bonuses to their employees as a reward for the work provided during the pandemic year, just as the public sector did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The association, led by legislator Jose Pereira Coutinho, said: &#8220;Since the frontline civil servants have shown excellent performance in the anti-pandemic works, the SAR government should give extra salary to them as an encouragement and to recognise their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We have proposed the above plan during the 2020 debate in social and cultural area, security area and economic and financial area. All the participating officials have expressed that they will study and discuss it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;However, they did not provide any specific reason to reject this suggestion.
