The Hong Kong group expects to open a new project in Hokkaido this year while it is also aiming for an integrated resort licence in Wakayama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Japan.- Hong Kong-listed Suncity Group has announced plans to develop a non-gaming facility in the town of Niseko, located in Hokkaido, Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a filling the company said: “With development plans in the works in 2021, the project will cover an area of approximately 20 hectares, combining the natural beauty of Niseko and convenient leisure amenities.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company intends to break ground in the development while also participating in the integrated resort RFP process in the Wakayama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suncity also plans to begin construction of another non-gaming resort in Miyako Island, in Okinawa, later this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company acquired land<\/a><\/em><\/strong> at the location some time ago with the intention of building villas and a hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Tuesday filling the company confirmed this hotel located at Yonaha Maehama Beach, which should be finished by 2023, will include 100 hotel rooms and 40 private villas with their own pools, as well as a variety of water sports facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suncity\u2019s Hoiana to open in 2021<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Suncity also reiterated this week its plan to open Phase one of its Hoiana resort in Vietnam in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoiana is a joint investment between Suncity, VMS Investment Group, and VinaCapital. It will be the first major integrated resort in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, the resort has only opened for a short preview<\/a><\/strong><\/em> last June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phase one has a capital expenditure budget of US$1bn<\/a><\/em><\/strong> and includes more than 1,000 hotel rooms, 140 gaming tables (two-thirds VIP, one-third mass-market) and 330 slots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
