Singapore.- Royal Caribbean International has launched its “cruise to nowhere” service departing from Singapore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With capacity limited to 2,000 passengers \u2013 half of the usual maximum \u2013 the maiden journey welcomed 1,300 guests with strict anti-Covid-19 protocols before boarding, including online-only check-in, baggage disinfection, and a requirement for passengers to submit a negative Covid-19 test prior to arrival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Royal Caribbean, a second sailing scheduled for Monday, December 7, already has 1,700 bookings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Angie Stephen, managing director for Asia Pacific at Royal Caribbean International, told\u00a0The Straits Times: \u201cWe want to trial our product, and the demand is there, as we are already 99% sold out for most of December. We\u2019d like to start slow and ramp up in a safe manner.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
