Macau.- Tak Chun Group has terminated its voluntary redundancy scheme for employees just one day after announcing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The junket group announced the scheme on Monday (November 30) amid a context in which Macau\u2019s GGR remains low<\/a><\/em><\/strong> and visitation has not recovered<\/a><\/em><\/strong> from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It said: \u201cTak Chun Group has introduced a special scheme with ex gratia payments for any staff who voluntarily chooses to resign from the company within a limited period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe believe that this scheme offers our staff a viable option for planning ahead under the current market condition.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n On Tuesday December 1, the company issued another statement saying the time for employees to take part in the scheme had ended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the latest notice, the group said the programme was offered to respond to a \u201ccertain staff demand.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n It said: \u201cThe scheme has now ceased.
