Malaysia.- A casino worker from Resorts World Genting tested positive for Covid-19 during a routine safety screening that has put the operator on alert since it’s the first case detected at the venue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The casino property, located at Genting Highlands, an upland area near the country\u2019s capital, Kuala Lumpur, remains open despite the news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Resort World Genting, operated by Genting Malaysia Bhd, said in a press release: \u201cThe case was detected during our regular health and safety screening procedures for employees and contractors which include medical tests”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It said the\u00a0employee was based at\u00a0Resorts World Genting\u2019s warehouse loading bay and did not interact with any of our guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe employee\u2019s movements were restricted and traceable,” the company said. “The affected employee is currently receiving medical attention at a\u00a0government hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the operator, authorities have been notified and they are conducting contact tracing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The announcement said: \u201cEmployees who had close contact with the affected individual are currently being isolated and screened. We have conducted thorough sanitisation and disinfection of all the affected areas in accordance with the Ministry of Health\u2019s\u00a0guidelines.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
