{"id":11913,"date":"2020-11-18T20:03:42","date_gmt":"2020-11-18T20:03:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=11913"},"modified":"2026-04-23T23:58:53","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T02:58:53","slug":"casinos-in-seoul-cut-capacity-limits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/casinos-in-seoul-cut-capacity-limits","title":{"rendered":"Casinos in Seoul cut capacity limits"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Venues in the metropolitan area, including Incheon, will be able to continue operating at 20 per cent capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>South Korea.- As the South Korean government raises the level of alert due to Covid-19, casinos in the country\u2019s capital have been forced to cut capacity limits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There been a recent spike in Covid-19 cases recorded in Seoul leading to restrictions being tightened again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The country had just eased restrictions in Octobe but has now reported over 300 new cases a day, the highest level since August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gatherings of over 100 people will be banned, religious services and audiences at sporting events will be shortened to 30 per cent capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to GGRAsia, casinos in Seoul\u2019s metropolitan area, including Incheon, will be able to continue functioning but with a 20 per cent capacity limit. This includes venues belonging to Grand Korea Leisure and Paradise Co.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The same capacity limit will apply to horse racing, boat racing and bike racing events, which are allowed to take bets from locals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kangwon Land, the only casino in which locals are allowed to gamble, <strong><em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/kangwon-land-reopens-with-cap-on-capacity\" target=\"_blank\">partially reopened<\/a><\/em><\/strong> its doors in mid-October with capacity limits of up to 750 people on the mass gaming floor and 68 people in the VIP facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The casino was the first to shut in February.
