Jurado regarding an administrative complaint filed against for extending jurisdiction over gaming licences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In July 2017, Jurado issued Opinion No. 174, which extended the gaming licensing jurisdiction normally corresponding to the Philippines Amusement and Gaming Corporation (<strong><em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/pagcor.ph\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">PAGCOR<\/a><\/em><\/strong>) to the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority (Apeco).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The complaint was lodged against him in May of the following year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Rodrigo Duterte himself confirmed Jurado had been dismissed for overstepped his authority by granting Apeco the <strong><em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/iec-closer-to-new-manila-casino\" target=\"_blank\">authority to issue gaming licences<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deputy government corporate counsel Elpidio J. Vega and assistant government corporate counsel Efren B. Gonzales then requested Jurado\u2019s disbarment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Associate justices Estela M. Perlas-Bernabe, Ramon Paul L. Hernando and Edgardo L.
