Macau.- The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has confirmed its intentions to host more large scale events to attract visitors and create jobs in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Events will include the Macau Food Festival from November 13 to 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The secretary for social affairs and culture, Ao Ieong U, said: \u201cIt is estimated that the Macau Grand Prix, Macau Food Festival and other activities in the series will create job opportunities of more than 100,000 man per day in total for the construction, catering, wholesale and retail, advertising and manufacturing industries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It will generate a significant positive impact against the downward spiral of the economy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The SAR will aim to promote the city as a safe place to visit. All staff working at events will receive virus tests every seven days. Viewers at Grand Prix races and customers at the Food Festival are not required to be tested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The pandemic continues to impact heavily. The traditional FIA F3 Championship and Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix have been cancelled due to difficulties in attracting foreign drivers, with British touring car driver Rob Huff the only foreign driver at the Gran Prix this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
