Macau.- Gross gaming revenue was down by 72.5 per cent year-on-year in October to MOP7.2 billion (US$910.5 million).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The figure is the best monthly result since January and a 230 per cent rise from the MOP2.2 billion reported in for September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The improvement came as border measures were eased with the resumption of tourists visas for Chinese residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Golden Week holiday period between October 1 and 8 did not boost the business as much as expected. Visitors reached 156,300 compared to almost 1 million last year. However, as of the end of October, an average of 40,000 daily visitors were entering the city, up from 15,000 in September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
