Three companies have won over half of the state-run casino\u2019s tenders since 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

South\u00a0Korea.-\u00a0An opposition legislator has raised questions about the state-run casino Kangwon Land, alleging that tenders have favoured companies owned by the same family.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to representative\u00a0Ku\u00a0Ja-keun\u00a0of the opposition People Power Party, more than half of procurements since 2013 have been granted to three companies owned by relatives of\u00a0Suh Kyung-bae, chairman of\u00a0AmorePacific\u00a0Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taeshin\u00a0Inpack,\u00a0Nongshim\u00a0Data System Corp (NDS) and KGS have won three out of four bids in the last two years, despite irregularities reported in their procedures, he alleged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suh Kyung-bae is the son-in-law of NDS chairman Shin Chun-ho and a cousin of the heads of Taeshin\u00a0and KGS.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ku is calling for the\u00a0Board of Audit and Inspection\u00a0to launch a probe after it was discovered NDS was awarded an electronic table games contract even though its proposal was submitted after deadline. He says that to review the company’s bid, the casino violated a clause that states all bids to be opened simultaneously.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
