Japan.- Six people were arrested in Tokyo after police raided an illegal casino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to local news, police found people gambling on baccarat at a multi-tenancy building in Tokyo\u2019s Kabukicho entertainment district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The manager and staff were arrested for allegedly trying to profit from illegal casino operations. Two male customers were also among those arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department said that the casino had been in operation since January with monthly sales of around JPY7 million (US$66,500).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The casino continued working despite the imposition of a state of emergency due to the Covid-19 pandemic early this year. The manager only imposed the use of sanitizer and masks, authorities said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
