That\u2019s why the Seneca Nation of Indians announced it may soon offer sports betting in its western New York casinos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tribe would launch operations in lounges in Buffalo, Niagara Falls and Salamanca before 2020. That would let gamblers place their bets for a potential Buffalo Bills (NFL) playoff run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe know Buffalo is a sports town,\u201d Seneca Gaming CEO Holly Gagnon told Buffalo Business First. \u201cAnd, we know it is a very passionate sports town. That\u2019s why we are bringing the (sports betting) lounges to the (New York) casinos.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New York October figures<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sports betting industry in the US has been in constant growth since May 2018, when the segment was legalised on a federal level. While multiple states are still deciding their regulations, others like New York are already operating. The Empire State kicked its operations in July, but during October it experienced a 4.4% revenue decline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<strong><em>New York State Gaming Commission<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(NYSGC) has revealed that the sportsbooks in the state generated US$2.2 million in October. This figure represents a 4.4% decline when compared to the US$2.3 million that the sportsbooks generated in September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sports betting market&nbsp;<strong><em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/sports-betting-to-launch-in-new-york\" target=\"_blank\">launched<\/a><\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;in New York in July, and since then the sportsbooks have generated a combined total of US$5.7 million.
