Cruise ships will also have to operate at a\u00a0maximum\u00a0of 50 per cent capacity.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pilot trips with enhanced safety protocols\u00a0will aim to gradually re-introduce this activity as pandemic-related restrictions are eased.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Genting Cruise Lines\u2019 World Dream and Royal Caribbean International\u2019s Quantum have both passed the\u00a0<strong><em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/singapore-to-issue-health-certification-for-cruises\" target=\"_blank\">mandatory\u00a0CruiseSafe\u00a0certification<\/a><\/em><\/strong> programme, which sets out hygiene and safety measures for the journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Genting\u2019s pilot trip will take place on November 6, while Royal Caribbean\u2019s will sail sometime in December.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tourism board added: \u201cThe government will monitor the outcomes of the pilot sailings carefully in the coming months before deciding on the next steps for cruises.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>it said: &#8220;As the lead coordinator for cruises in ASEAN, Singapore aims to set a benchmark for the future of cruising in the region with the development of\u00a0CruiseSafe\u00a0standards.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSingapore also remains confident of the long-term potential of cruising.
