{"id":10663,"date":"2020-10-06T22:13:36","date_gmt":"2020-10-06T22:13:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=10663"},"modified":"2026-04-24T01:13:38","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T04:13:38","slug":"asian-suppliers-stocks-rise-while-american-companies-drop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/asian-suppliers-stocks-rise-while-american-companies-drop","title":{"rendered":"Asian suppliers&#8217; stocks rise while American companies drop"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The AGEM Index jumped 10 per cent in September although the main American companies saw stocks tumble.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Asia.-&nbsp;The AGEM Index rose 10.1 per cent month-on-month in September, and 6 points on the same month last year, mainly due to the performance of Asian manufacturers&#8217; stocks.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Index is developed by the\u00a0Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (<em><strong>AGEM<\/strong><\/em>) to show the evolution of members\u2019 stock on the main international markets.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>September saw the index climb by 48.85 points, to 530.87, driven by the performance of five companies.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Association said:&nbsp;&#8220;The stock price for Scientific Games Corporation increased by 68.7 per cent, accounting for a 37.05-point improvement in the AGEM Index, while Konami Corp.&nbsp;experienced a 11.1 percent stock price jump that led to an index contribution of 10.87 points.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aristocrat grew 5.6 per cent in September and added 6.7 points to the Index. Taiwan\u2019s Astro Corp saw a 12.9 per cent monthly increase.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile,&nbsp;Ainsworth Game Technology continued its downward trajectory and lost 13.2 per cent.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AGEM stressed that there was a&nbsp;downward trend across major US stock indices in September, which affected the Index&#8217;s results.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It said: \u201cAll three major US stock indices decreased as the NASDAQ dropped by 5.4 per cent, the S&amp;P 500 fell by 3.9 per cent, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 2.1 per cent compared to August 2020.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The AGEM Index jumped 10 per cent in September although the main American companies saw stocks tumble.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":10666,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"The AGEM Index recorded a 10.1% month-on-month increase in September, primarily driven by robust stock performance from Asian gaming equipment manufacturers.
