Singapore.- The Singapore Tourism Board has issued a tender to establish a new health and safety certification benchmark in order to give the green light to the resumption of cruise operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The tender, awarded to DNV GL Singapore, will see the maritime industry classification advisor create a cruise compliance and certification programme that all cruise lines will need to achieve in order to be allowed to sail from the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sailings in and out of Singapore have been suspended since March 13 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From now on, sailings will be allowed for certified cruise ships, but they will only be allowed to operate at 50 per cent for at least the first three months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
DNV GL Singapore will be tasked with reviewing and enhancing cruise safety management measures as well as recommending an audit process for cruise ships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
