(PAGCOR)\u00a0remitted Php25 million (US$516,518) to the Philippine Sports Commission\u2019s (PSC) National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) in August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The amount is far from the usual pre-pandemic contribution of Php140 million (US$2.89 million) a month but is almost four times July\u2019s remittance of only Php7 million (US$144,616).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PSC executive director, Guillermo\u00a0Iroy\u00a0Jr., told Business Mirror: \u201cThe Php25 million is a lot higher from what the PSC was receiving after this pandemic. So yes, the PSC is thankful with what we have received from <strong><em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/pagcor.ph\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">PAGCOR<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, and the agency continues to remit to the PSC despite these challenging times.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The amount is still not enough to cover the\u00a0monthly allowances paid to 262 coaches and almost 1,000\u00a0athletes in the Philippines, which were reduced by 50 per cent during the pandemic but still total\u00a0Php32 million (US$661,105) a month.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PAGCOR\u2019s income from casino fee payments has been <strong><em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/pagcor-fee-revenue-down-almost-50\" target=\"_blank\">reduced by half<\/a><\/em><\/strong> of due to the impact of the pandemic.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>August\u2019s contribution to the sports development fund increased after an all-time low in July.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":10462,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp.
