Cambodia.- Star Vegas Resort, Donaco’s casino resort on Cambodia\u2019s border with Thailand is reopening after a six-month shutdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a filing delivered by the Australian-listed promoter, the property will \u201coperate on a limited scale for patrons located in Cambodia”. That resort will not currently be able to receive clients from Thailand or other destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company said:”The border with Thailand, where most of the casino\u2019s patrons have traditionally originated, remains closed\u201d. However, the firm expects the reopening will \u201callow the company to test its operational systems whilst ensuring the health and well-being of staff and visitors\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The venue had been closed since April 1, when the Cambodian government mandated lockdown measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. On July 29, Donaco sent a filing to the Australian Securities Exchange, saying it was awaiting\u00a0a government inspection\u00a0of Star Vegas in order to be able to reopen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Donaco said: \u201cThe company will continue to maintain its tight cost control strategy, while operations remain at limited operating capacity; and management will maintain the discretion to tailor up or down the pace of operations to local conditions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
