Macau.- The Grand Lisboa Palace, SJM Holdings’ new development in the Cotai area, will have eco-friendly features to help protect the environment, the company says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new HK$39 billion (US$5 billion) integrated resort will have heat recovery ventilation systems installed in the bathrooms in all guestrooms, energy-efficient LED lights, temperature sensors, dual-flush water closets and faucets with low-flow fixtures, as well as smart control on curtains that will close automatically when the room is empty, reducing solar heat from the windows and rooms’ cooling loads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a statement by SJM, the IR’s central chiller plant system and building management system will optimise air conditioning operation, with demand-controlled variable speed drives to save energy consumption by controlling the chilled and hot water pumps and air handling units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SJM has been awarded a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design\u00a0(LEED) Silver certification from the ratings system designed by the US Green Building Council. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The award recognises compliance with strict building standards in areas of sustainable energy, water efficiency, indoor environmental quality, innovation in design and regional priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
