{"id":10291,"date":"2020-09-24T05:17:11","date_gmt":"2020-09-24T05:17:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=10291"},"modified":"2026-04-24T01:34:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T04:34:09","slug":"macau-flight-bookings-three-times-higher-in-september","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-flight-bookings-three-times-higher-in-september","title":{"rendered":"Macau: flight bookings three times higher in September"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Air Macau has revealed bookings for flights to Macau have risen this month ahead of National Day and Golden Week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Macau.- The vice president of Air Macau, Liao Hanxi, has revealed that flight bookings ahead of National Day and Golden Week have been two or three times higher than the average seen in recent months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He stressed, however, that the current tally of bookings represents only 20 per cent of those made in last year people comparing to last year flights for the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At a press conference after the opening ceremony of a new Air Macau ticket office in NAPE, Liao stated that the pandemic meant an \u201cunprecedented challenge\u201d to the company. However, he has shown confidence in a recovery, with flights resuming gradually to bring more visitors to Macau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Liao said: \u201cAir Macau will gradually resume 17 mainland China routes, provide various discount and promotional sales for mainland and Macau customers and provide convenient direct flight services for travellers. [We] will also continue to contribute to the development of Macau\u2019s diversified leisure tourism market&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The resumption of flights and the recovery of tourism is related to the resumption of the issuing of individual visas for residents of all mainland China provinces which have returned yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline plans to cut some international flights for October while increasing routes to mainland China. For the holiday period, scheduled flights are expected to increase from 54 per week to 230 per week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In October, the\u00a0company plans\u00a0to resume routes to Xiamen, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanning, Beijing, Jieyangchaoshan, Tianjin, Chengzhou and Chengdu while adding flights to Taiyuan, Zhengzhou, Qingdao, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Chongqing and Guiyang.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Air Macau has revealed bookings for flights to Macau have risen this month ahead of National Day and Golden Week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":10295,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Air Macau reports a significant increase in flight bookings to Macau for the upcoming National Day and Golden Week holidays, driven by the resumption of individual visas for mainland China residents.
