Suncity Group and Clairvest Neem Ventures throw their hat in the ring to build IR should prefecture secure licence.

Japan.- Wakayama authorities have confirmed that Suncity Group Holdings Japan and Clairvest Neem Ventures have declared interest in building an integrated resort (IR) in the prefecture.

Both organisations qualified for the local government’s request-for-proposal (RFP) process, following a local government review of both companies in the last two weeks.

The local authority said it plans to select its IR partner by mid-November.

Wakayama will then apply to Japan’s government to put itself into the running to secure one of three IR licences up for grabs.

Wakayama is one of the 39 prefectures to have had its state of emergency order lifted following the Covid-19 pandemic.
