Vietnamese IRs to accept tourists with Covid-19 vaccine certificates
Two integrated resorts in Quang Nam will accept tourists with a negative Covid-19 test and a vaccine certificate.
Vietnam.- In an attempt to reactivate the tourism sector, the province of Quang Nam, one of the major tourist destinations in Vietnam, has proposed that two integrated resorts be allowed to accept guests who have been vaccinated against Covid-19.
It will be the first province to test a “safe tourism” programme. According to local media, the selected resorts are Suncity’s Hoiana resort and Tui Blue Hotel. Visitors would be allowed to stay at the resorts for between five and ten days.
Le Tri Thanh, chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said the province planned to receive South Korean vaccine passport tourists, who must also test negative for Covid-19. The plan also has the approval of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Vietnam’s tourism sector has been deeply affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The gaming industry was also one of the hardest hit by restrictions as the government has tight restrictions on locals entering casinos.
Casino operators recently asked the government to ease the rules to boost revenue lost as a result of travel restrictions.
