Vietnam.- Vingroup Group has announced that it will open its $2.8bn integrated resort Phu Quoc United Center on April 21.
The resort will host hotel brands including Vinpearl, VinOasis, VinHoliday, and Radisson Blue as well as a 24-hour shopping and entertainment zone, a theme park, a golf course and a Corona Casino & Resort.
The casino will include 1,000 slot machines, 100 table games, and a 600-seat theatre. In line with Vietnamese law, it will only allow bettors over the age of 21 who have a minimum monthly income of at least VND10m (US$445).
The initial success of the new integrated resort will be largely dependant on its ability to cater to locals, with Covid-19 travel restrictions still preventing tourism in Vietnam.
This month, casino operators in Vietnam asked the national government to ease rules on locals entering casinos in order to boost revenue lost as a result of the pandemic.
Vingroup said in a statement: “With an ecosystem of thousands of facilities and record entertainment items, Phu Quoc United Center not only satisfies the needs of enjoying – playing – resting – exploring for all visitors, but also providing unprecedented experiences in Vietnam.”
