UAE Lottery becomes World Lottery Association member
The lottery said the move reinforces its dedication to global standards.
United Arab Emirates.- The UAE Lottery, operated by The Game, has announced its acceptance as a member of the World Lottery Association (WLA). It said the move marks a step forward in its international positioning and reinforces its dedication to global standards of integrity, responsible gaming and corporate responsibility.
The WLA membership enables collaboration with more than 150 government-authorised lotteries and over 70 associated suppliers worldwide.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) launched its first national lottery – and the first form of legal gambling –in November 2024. The Game received a lottery licence from the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) in July, and Smartplay International received a vendor licence in October.
Bishop Woosley, director of lottery operations at The Game, said: “Becoming a WLA member is a proud milestone for The UAE Lottery, which is committed to operational excellence, innovation in player experience, and advancing the regional regulated gaming sector. The UAE Lottery’s acceptance as a member highlights the effectiveness of our efforts to facilitate the development of a commercial regulated gaming sector specifically tailored for the UAE, while positioning the country as a proactive contributor to the WLA’s global collaboration initiatives.”
