The World Lottery Association opens registration for the Sydney summit
WLS 2026 will bring together global lottery and sports betting leaders in Australia under the theme “United in Purpose: Driving Change and Building Resilience.”
Australia.- The World Lottery Association (WLA) and host lottery The Lottery Corporation (TLC) have officially opened registration for attendees and trade show exhibitors for the World Lottery Summit (WLS) 2026, scheduled to take place in Sydney, Australia, from November 9 to 12.
The event, one of the most important gatherings for the global regulated lottery and sports betting sector, will be held at the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), located in the city’s renowned Darling Harbour precinct.
Under the theme “United in Purpose: Driving Change and Building Resilience,” the summit will explore how lottery and sports betting operators can navigate an evolving landscape marked by technological transformation, shifting consumer expectations and increasing regulatory scrutiny.
The four-day event will feature a comprehensive business programme, keynote presentations and networking opportunities designed to foster collaboration across the industry.
On November 10, discussions will centre on driving change, examining innovation, emerging technologies and new business opportunities. The following day will focus on building resilience, with speakers addressing operational sustainability, responsible gaming initiatives and long-term industry challenges. The final conference day, November 12, will highlight the importance of working united in purpose to strengthen the sector’s positive contribution to society.
WLA president Andreas Kötter and The Lottery Corporation CEO Wayne Pickup have both welcomed participants to what is expected to be one of the organisation’s most significant events in recent years. Beyond the conference agenda, organisers are emphasising the summit’s broader social mission and the role that regulated lotteries play in supporting public causes around the world.
A highlight of the event will be the opening dinner at the iconic Sydney Opera House, where delegates will arrive by boat for an exclusive evening at one of Australia’s most recognisable landmarks. Organisers noted the symbolic significance of the venue, whose construction was largely funded through the sale of more than 86 million lottery tickets.
The summit is expected to attract lottery executives, regulators, suppliers and industry stakeholders from across the globe, providing a platform to discuss innovation, responsible growth and the future of regulated gaming markets.
Advertising and Responsible Gaming Awards
In addition to opening registration, the WLA has launched the call for entries for the WLS 2026 Advertising Awards and Responsible Gaming Awards. The initiatives will recognise outstanding campaigns, innovations and best practices from lottery operators around the world, with winners set to be announced during the summit in Sydney. The awards aim to showcase excellence in marketing effectiveness, player protection and responsible gaming initiatives, reinforcing the industry’s commitment to sustainable growth and social responsibility.
