The Londoner Macao opens bookings for January
The rebranded hotel and casino has already opened bookings with an eye on the Chinese New Year holidays.
Macau.- The Londoner Macao has opened bookings for stays starting from January 22 next year, according to the resort’s official account on Instagram.
The London-themed venue is a redeveloped and rebranded hotel previously known as Sands Cotai Central. Along with the recently opened Four Seasons Suites across the road in Cotai, it forms part of Sands China’s US$2.2bn additional investment in the Macau market.
China’s State Council has announced the Chinese New Year holiday period from February 11 to 17 inclusive, providing a week-long break for people living in mainland China, the main source of tourism for Macau.
In late November, Wilfred Wong Ying Wai, president of Sands China Ltd, forecast that the Londoner Hotel would open in February, with some new shops and food outlets to launch at about the same time.
As of Sunday, construction work was still ongoing around the new main entrance to the property, which has a facade resembling the 19th-century neo-gothic architecture of the Palace of Westminster, the home of the UK’s parliament.
